A.    Hold a Public Hearing and take action on HDC11-17 (1010 Coryell), a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a new residential structure on 0.27 acres zoned “RSF-7” (Residential Single Family with minimum 7,000 square foot lots with the Residential Neighborhood Conservation Overlay), legally described as Lots 7 & 8 Block 43 League City Townsites, generally located at the northeast corner of Illinois Avenue and Coryell Street with the approximate address being 1010 Coryell Street.

HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION

REGULAR MEETING

Tuesday, June 16, 2011 at 6:00 P.M.

I.                   Call to order and Roll call of members

 

Mr. Guglielmo called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.

*Ms. Schroeder was ill and was not able to attend the meeting.         

Ms. Christiansen arrived at 6:07p.m.

II.                Approval of Minutes

B.      May 12, 2011

 

Ms. Hall made a motion to approve the minutes of May 12, 2011.

 

Ms. Dudney seconded the motion.

 

The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 5-0-0 (Ms. Christiansen arrived after the vote).

 

 

III.   Public Hearings and Action Items from Public Hearings

Hold a Public Hearing and take action on HDC11-17 (1010 Coryell), a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a new residential structure on 0.27 acres zoned “RSF-7” (Residential Single Family with minimum 7,000 square foot lots with the Residential Neighborhood Conservation Overlay), legally described as Lots 7 & 8 Block 43 League City Townsites, generally located at the northeast corner of Illinois Avenue and Coryell Street with the approximate address being 1010 Coryell Street.

Mr. Morrison presented the staff report for this item and explained the applicant is proposing to build an approximately 1900 square foot home.  He said currently the site is vacant except for an existing garage.  He said the proposed new construction design and materials meet the requirements of the Historic District Design and Materials Guidelines and Preservation Plan.

Mr. Guglielmo opened the public hearing at 6:09 p.m.

Shayne Ford, previous owner of the property and mother of the applicant, was present and discussed the proposed plans for the house.

Carolyn Cooke and Andrew Ford, applicants, were present.  Ms. Cook provided paint color samples to the Commission.

A discussion was held regarding the proposed materials.  Mr. Ford advised Hardie Plank will be used for the home.

Mr. Guglielmo closed the public hearing at 6:14 p.m. and called for a motion.

Ms. Dudney motioned to approve HDC11-17 (1010 Coryell).

Mr. Ruhl seconded the motion.

No discussion was held.

The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 6-0-0.

 

IV.       Other Business

No Business to report.

 V.       Reports from Staff

Mr. Morrison discussed workshop meeting dates with the Board.  A discussion was held regarding a July 21st or August 18th meeting date.  With neither date convenient for the Board to meet, Mr. Morrison advised he would email the Board more meeting date options to choose from.

 

VI.       Adjournment

Ms. Hall made a motion to adjourn the meeting.

Ms. Sesher seconded the motion.

Mr. Guglielmo adjourned the meeting at 6:19 p.m.
