A.     Hold a public compliance hearing with possible action on BASC16-01 (1811 Oriole Drive), to determine whether a building or structure is a dangerous building, to show cause why the ordered action has not been completed and/or why civil penalties should not be assessed, and issue any order(s) determined necessary to address such conditions per 22-331 et. seq. of the League City Code of Ordinances, on property located at 1811 Oriole Drive, League City, Texas 77573, legally described as Lot 25, Block 2, Clear Creek Heights Section 3, a subdivision in League City, Galveston County, Texas, according to the map thereof recorded in the Office of the County Clerk of Galveston County, Texas, together with all improvements thereon.

I.                    Call to order and Roll call of members

Mr. Hendershot called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.

*Mr. Hendershot activated Ms. Gann-Curry as a voting member.

II.                 Approval of Minutes

A.     January 07, 2016

 

Ms. Gann-Curry made a motion to approve the January 07, 2016minutes.

Ms. Benoit seconded the motion.

The motion is passed unanimously with a vote of 4-0-0.

 

III.              Public Hearings and Action Items from Public Hearings (BASC)

Kris Carpenter, Neighborhood Services Manager for the City of League City, commented that the applicant has agreed to demolish the property, and City staff requested that the ordered be issued as written.

 

The public hearing was opened at 6:03 PM.

 

John Nugent –applicant, 1811 Oriole Drive – thanked the commission and commented that he was unable to remodel the house and has applied for a permit to demolish the house.

 

The public hearing was closed at 6:05 PM.

 

Ms. Gann-Curry made a motion the make the item a Final Order for demolition.

Mr. Miller seconded the motion.

The motion is passed unanimously with a vote of 4-0-0.

 

IV.              Staff Comments

Mr. Linenschmidt commented that Mr. Miller was appointed to the board and there will be more members appointed to board in the future and staff is choosing the right time for the board’s training session.

 

Mr. Hendershot acknowledged Jim Christiansen’s tenure on the board, commended his work on the board, and stated that Mr. Christiansen was not reappointed to the board.

 

V.                 Adjournment

Mr. Hendershot asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting.

 

The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 4-0-0.

 

Mr. Hendershot adjourned the meeting at 6:08 PM.
