    B. Alan Bourgeois is the founder and director of Texas Authors, Inc., DEAR Texas Inc., and Texas Authors Institute of History. All three non-profits help support and market Texas Authors. Alan will be talking about these and many other programs and events that the organizations have been doing for the past five years and what they will be doing around the state and the country over the next year.

    Captain Mark VonAppen is a member of the Palo Alto (CA) Fire Department since 1998. He is a committee member for California State Fire Training. Mark has been published in Fire Engineering Magazine, Fire Service Warrior, and is the creator of the fire service leadership blog FULLY INVOLVED. He is an instructor for the Santa Clara County Joint Fire Academy, a recruit instructor for Palo Alto Fire, an academy instructor at Evergreen Community College, and a member of the "Nobody Gets Left Behind" training group. He has been involved in public speaking since 2005.
