A New night for "National Night Out" - Due to hot summers in Texas, National Night Out has been moved to Tuesday, October 7, 2008. The change will allow for cooler temperatures and better turn out for block parties. We will begin scheduling NNO events in September. Watch LCPD.com for more information.

The Next Citizen Police Academy is currently accepting enrollment for the Fall. Class begins August 14, 2008 and last for 15 weeks.

Beginning July 1st, the Galveston County Tax Office will begin collecting taxes for the City of League City. Property owners may mail payments to: GCTO, 722 Moody Avenue, Galveston, Texas 77550. Payments may also be made in person at the Galveston County branch in League City at 174 Calder Drive or left in the yellow Tax Office drop box outside the building. You may also make a payment online by going to www.co.galveston.tx.us. Click on the Tax Assessor Collector link and then locate your property in the online database. You may make a payment by using an electronic check (you will incur a $3.00 fee) or by using a credit card (2.5% fee). You may also call Official Payments at 1-800-272-9829 to make a credit card payment over the telephone. Galveston County’s jurisdiction code is 6140.

For those taxpayers paying quarterly, your last payment is due before AUGUST 1st and should be mailed directly to Galveston County.
