Republic Works to Restore Normal Trash Service

If your home, street or neighborhood has not received trash service since Aug. 25, please let us know by calling Donna Ofsanko at (281) 554-1445. She will work directly with Republic to get your trash picked up as quickly as possible.

Republic restarted trash service on September 1 and is working to restore regular service to League City residents and businesses as quickly as possible. But due to large volumes of trash, their crews’ regular service time has been reduced.

Also, because landfill access is still partially compromised by water and mud, Republic’s drivers are experiencing extremely long wait times (often 2-3 hours) at the landfill site, resulting in much less time available for picking up trash.

In addition, there has been limited access to streets in some areas, due to storm debris as well as all of our neighbors, friends and contractors doing demolition/restoration work to get residents back into their homes as quickly as possible. This limited access may cause Republic to have to move onto other streets initially until there is time for access to improve.

Republic has also brought in some additional drivers from other areas, who may have inadvertently missed some streets, but they are continuing to deploy extra resources throughout the city to catch up and get back to normal. Republic plans to have all customers in League City recovered by Saturday.

If your trash is not picked up on your regularly scheduled collection day, please leave it out at the curb, as routes are often being completed the following morning. Also, recycling service is suspended until further notice, as the trucks typically used for recycling services are now being utilized for an additional trash collection day. The League City Recycling Center also continues to remain closed until further notice.

Thank you for your continued patience and support as Republic works hard to restore everyone in our community to pre-storm levels of service.
