FY 2014 funding of $727K is proposed to complete concrete work for the new burn building and purchase land for relocating Station 3. Purchasing land for a future Public Safety Annex Station 6 is proposed in FY2015.

Further, the five-year program provides funding for the design and construction of a relocated Station 3 in FY2015-2016. To improve the City’s ISO rating, which can affect property insurance rates for homeowners and businesses, a more northern station location is required in the eastern half of the City. The plan also contemplates that all new stations primarily built for Fire will include living quarters, will also serve as police substations and may also house EMS vehicles and personnel.
