Councilman Mike Barber was born in San Antonio, TX, and grew up in Midwest City Oklahoma.
He received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma in 1995, and currently works for AstraZeneca as a field-based liaison to support medical trials and to provide scientific data about AstraAeneca to physicians.
Councilman Barber and his wife, Beth, moved to League City in 2003, and make their home in Victory Lakes.
“I ran for City Council because I felt that the citizens were not getting the same representation as the homebuilders and the rest of the development community,” says Councilman Barber.
His goals are:
- To make city government more responsive and user-friendly
- Lower taxes
- Improve traffic
- Smart growth that results in a diversified tax base
- Address quality of life issues for senior citizens
