Traffic Signal at SH96 & Tuscan Village Drive
Screen Shot 2013-08-29 at 8.57.13 AM.pngDescription
Design and construction of a new traffic signal at the SH96 entrance to Eastern Regional Park.  The new entrance will align with Tuscan Village Drive.  The new entrance will be constructed by Tuscan Lakes Investors (developer).  The cost of the signal design is 100% the City’s responsibility.  The cost of the signal construction is 50/50 split between the City and Tuscan Lakes Investors.

Why It's Needed
The new entrance and traffic signal to will improve access to Eastern Regional Park.  The park currently has one entrance located off of Dickinson Ave.  Dickinson Ave is a narrow two-lane asphalt roadway with roadside ditches.  There are no turn lanes provided at the park driveway to remove the turning traffic from the non-park traffic.  During weekend activities, traffic may overload the driveway making it difficult to get in and out of the park.  Current traffic patterns associated with the one entrance also include U-turning traffic coming from the west on SH96 at Tuscan Lakes Village Drive or routing south down SH3 to Olive Street, and then back north on Dickinson Ave.
