Previously appropriated of $505,870 was for the design services to convert Texas Avenue from an open ditch rural roadway to a 28Ft pavement with sidewalk concrete-curb and gutter enclosed storm sewer roadway. Phase 1 - 518 to Webster 3400', Phase 2 - Webster to Hewitt 4000'.

FY2014 Update:  Council changed scope to major rehab of existing asphalt surface.  Funds are requested in the FY2014 operating budget to cover in-house rehab materials.  Drainage work by outside contractor at Webster/Texas/Beaumont intersection included in FY2014 scope with funding of $200K.

Why It's Needed
Drainage work is needed at Webster/Texas/Beaumont intersection due to water sheet flowing over road during heavy rainfalls.  Companion project to Texas Avenue Rehab.
