Mayor - Timothy Paulissen

Tim Paulissen was elected mayor of League City in May 2011 after serving four years as a member of City Council. Under his leadership, the city has continued its record-setting pace of improvements to roads, parks, and other infrastructure while implementing League City’s third consecutive property tax rate reduction in 2012.

Mayor Paulissen is a native Texan who grew up in La Porte and has lived in League City since 1994. He and his wife, Ann, have two sons, Matt and Michael. Mayor Paulissen serves as president of the Galveston County Mayors’ and Councilmembers’ Association and chairs the Galveston County Transit District. He also serves on boards including the Bay Area Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Oaks of Clear Creek Homeowners’ Association, and the advisory board of the Bay Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. A two-time League City Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Year, the mayor is a past president of the North Galveston County Chamber of Commerce.

Mayor Paulissen owns Homeowner’s Monthly, a publishing company specializing in HOA newsletters. In his spare time, the mayor teaches jazzercise classes to League City senior citizens and driving his restored 1969 Ford Mustang.
