Community Outreach

Responsibilities

League City Police Officers give presentations on personal safety, crime prevention, and bullying. The Community Outreach Unit coordinates and attends scheduled community appearances and presentations within League City's jurisdiction.

This unit is also responsible for the following community programs:

Community Outreach Officers

Officer Christy Galyean

Christy Galyean joined the Department in 1991. Christy has worked in the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations, and in Special Operations.

Experience
Officer Galyean’s experience includes:

  • Crime Prevention Officer
  • Field Training Officer
  • Hostage Negotiator

Christy is a certified Special Investigator for sexual assault and family violence, and Crime Victim Liaison. In addition to regular duties, Christy coordinates National Night Out, the annual LCPD Golf Tournament, and the Blue Santa Program.

Officer Christy Galyean was awarded the 100 Club of Houston Officer of the Year Award in 2007, Employee of the year for the city for 2008, and Officer of the Year by Space Center Rotary Club in 2009.

Officer Todd Young

Todd Young began his law enforcement career in 1990 with the League City Police department. Todd has served in the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations and Special Operations.

Todd holds a Master Peace Officer’s Certification and has an Associate degree in Criminal Justice. Officer Young is the League City Police Department liaison to the League City Police Department Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association and the Coordinator for the Department’s Volunteers in Policing Program.
