What is your title/ what do you do?
I’m a mommy/lawyer. My husband and I have three kids (ages 10, 6, and 4) and I have been practicing law since 2006.
Are you originally from League City?
I am. Both my parents went to Clear Creek High School as well as myself and my husband. My grandmother graduated from Webster High School in 1950 which was the only high school in CCISD at the time. My kids will be the fourth generation of the family to graduate high school from CCISD.
How are you involved with the League City Music Festival?
I am chairing the Kids’ Day activities which is the portion of the festival where the park is closed to the public and hundreds of special needs students from surrounding school districts are invited to attend.
How did you first get involved with the Lions Club and why?
I first got involved in 2016. I choose to be involved with the Lions Club because their service projects directly impact the local community.
What is Kids’ Day?
Kids’ Day is one of the League City Lions principal service projects and is a long-standing tradition within the festival. We are proud to work with surrounding school districts to allow children a fun day at the park!
Why is being involved with Kids’ Day important or special to you?
I think it is a great opportunity for these students to have a different experience they might not otherwise find accessible.
How does Whataburger support Kids Day and the Lions Club?
Whataburger is PHENOMENAL! They provide Whatachick’n Bites and Justaburgers with apple slices, fruit snacks and water for all the students and chaperones…which is about 1,000 people!
Can people volunteer?
But of course! Volunteers can sign up at http://lcmusicfest.com/volunteer/. Kids’ Day volunteers are needed from 8:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 3.
Favorite part about the LC Music Festival?
The long-standing tradition of the event…this is the 65th year.
Favorite thing to eat at the Festival?
What musician are you looking forward to seeing at the festival?
Bag of Donuts, though my son has his last baseball game the same night so not sure I will make it. Go rookie Yard Goats!
Favorite restaurant in League City?
There have been so many awesome new restaurants open lately, but Esteban’s is a classic!
How would you describe League City?
A small town feel with easy access to big city amenities.
