Boo on the Boardwalk | Kemah Boardwalk | Fridays ­– Sundays in October

Head to this scenic amusement park overlooking Galveston Bay for a weekend filled with fun and frights. The boardwalk is hosting live music, crafts, a haunted fun house, trick-or-treating, and plenty of special guests every weekend in October.

Froberg’s Farm Fall Festival | Daily through October 31Family poses at Froberg's Farm

This friendly farm in Alvin, just 30 minutes south of League City, is a regional favorite for families. Make your way through a corn maze, have a blast in Berry Fun Land, pick fresh flowers, play games, roast marshmallows, pick out a perfect pumpkin, and shop the farm store for fresh produce and local jams and pies.

League City Harvest Fest | Hometown Heroes Park | October 17 | 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This annual League City tradition has been adjusted in order to comply with Covid-19 restrictions. Head to Hometown Heroes Park for a drive-thru Fall Festival experience. The first 500 people will receive candy and crafts. There will also be a costume and pumpkin carving contest, and a photo booth set up outside so families can stop and get a photo. Individuals can bring their carved pumpkins with them for judging, and the winners will have their photos posted on Facebook and receive a prize.

Butler’s Courtyard Block Party | October 30 | 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Come out to the historic Butler’s Courtyard for an evening of family fun and entertainment. There will be a live D.J., food trucks, and tours of the City’s first brick building, built in 1909. Wear a costume, bring your pet (on a leash), and have a good time at one of the Historic District’s most beautiful locales.

Halloween Drive-Thru | Women and Children’s Health Center | October 30 | 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Families are invited to dress up in their Halloween costumes and drive over to the Women and Children’s Health Center in League City for some special treats. Visit the Health Center at 2360 Gulf Fwy S #100C in League City.

Galaxy Frights | Space Center Houston | Oct. 30 & 31 | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.Galaxy Frights

Experience a day at Space Center Houston unlike any other. Join a costume parade at the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, meet NASA’s newest robot, “Spidernaut,” trick-or-treat at multiple candy stations, enjoy pop-up science labs, hear from real astronauts, and much more.

Halloween at Helen Hall Library | October 31 | 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Stop by the Helen Hall Library and see the collection of cleverly decorated pumpkins lining the sidewalks out front (all designed by library staff) and vote for your favorite. At the end of the pumpkin line, children can trick-or-treat and choose either a candy or craft bag. (The bags are assembled by staff wearing a mask and gloves.) Visit Helen Hall Library at 100 W. Walker St. in League City.

Trick or Treat at the League City Animal Shelter | October 31 | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. To close out the month, the League City Animal Shelter is inviting people, and their pets, to stop by and trick-or-treat. The shelter will have treats for humans and their furry friends. If you wear a costume, you can also adopt a pet for $10.

Trunk or Treat at St. Christopher Episcopal Church | October 31 | 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The church will be following all Covid guidelines to ensure their 3rd annual Trunk or Treat Halloween event is safe for everyone who attends. Masks are required, and children will enjoy trick-or-treating in a family-friendly environment.
