Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at LCAC! Our organization relies heavily on our team of trained volunteers. Without their hard work, dedication, and commitment to our mission, we would not be able to offer many of the lifesaving programs currently in place nor continue to be a no-kill City.

There are so many ways to help us save lives every day at League City Animal Care – ranging from direct animal care, assisting adopters, pet training programs and play groups, clerical assistance, and more!

Please take a moment to review our Guidelines and then submit your application to join our team! We can’t wait to see you around the shelter!

Adoptions

Volunteers can assist at our Adoption Center’s front desk by answering questions and phone calls, assisting adopters with introductions and counseling, adoption follow-ups, accepting donations, and assisting with light clerical work!

Events, Fundraising, & Community Outreach

If you love animals *and* people, have an outgoing personality, positive outlook, love problem solving, and find helping animals and people in need rewarding, we need you! LCAC is working hard to grow our community outreach programs, which can range from raising awareness at local events, bringing adoptable pets into the community, assisting with events that help keep pets with their families, and fundraising for our cause!

Canine Companions & Feline Friends

These hands-on animal care roles range from dog-walking and kitty cuddling to working with our training programs to help prepare animals to become someone’s new best friend!

Essential Shelter Help

We can always use a helping hand with *something* around the shelter! This role is great for those who like to help wherever the need is most! Do your friends call you a “jack of all trades”? Do you have a knack for organizing? Do you enjoy solo projects? Become an Essential Help volunteer! Duties range from sorting donations, bathing puppies, organizing storage, folding laundry, preparing for events, and more!

Pet Photography & Marketing

Calling all shutter-bugs! A pet’s photo on our website, online search, or our social media accounts is often what draws an adopter or donor to seek us out! Help us showcase our animals and our shelter in it’s best light by becoming a photography volunteer!

Kitty Condo Krewe

The Kitty Condo Krewe program allows shelter cats to find adoptive families at five local pet supply stores such as Petco and PetSmart. Kitty Condo Krewe volunteers play with cats, clean their kennels, and take care of them during their stay. Volunteers spend about 45 minutes to one hour on a rotating shift to engage with the cats.
