What National Night Out Is
National Night Out (NNO) is a yearly nationwide initiative that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer. The best way to build a safer community is to get to know your neighbors; police encourage interaction as a crime prevention tool. Neighbors that get to know each other are more likely to watch out for each other and report suspicious activities. NNO is held on the first Tuesday in October from 6 to 9 p.m.
Notes for Potential Coordinators
The League City Police Department (LCPD) holds online NNO event registration beginning August 30 and ending September 25. We ask that HOAs, Neighborhood Watch groups, and management companies take the role as coordinators of their events. Fill out the NNO Registration Form (DOC). After completing registration, either email or hand deliver it to Officer Montero or Officer Young.
The Police Department will attempt to visit all registered locations. Police attendance at a NNO event cannot be guaranteed due to manpower and public safety call load, but every effort is made to accommodate all requests every year. The Fire Department is a volunteer organization and also strives to visit as many events as possible, but LCVFD may not be requested or guaranteed.
