Clear Springs High School student, Chandler Moore, was recognized for his community service to the League City community on Feb. 23, 2016.
Moore, a member of the League City Methodist Church Scout Troop 603, was presented with a proclamation for volunteering more than 200 hours to clean-up the Magnolia Creek Cemetery as part of his Eagle Scout project.
The project included the building of more than 100 feet of fence, installing a new solar powered flag pole, and planting two magnolia trees.
He also led the efforts to solicit funds for the project, secured a work group to complete the project, and worked with the Veteran’s Administration to secure a headstone for Thomas B. Perkins – a descendant of one of League City’s original ranching families.
