The City of League City, in partnership with the County of Galveston, will begin a construction project to improve Calder Road on Feb. 29, 2016.
The project will convert Calder Road to one-way traffic (north bound only) from Big League Dreams Parkway to League City Parkway for the duration of both phases of the project.
The first phase of the project consists of the construction of a 30-inch sanitary sewer pipeline, along the east side of Calder Road, from Turner Street to Ervin Street – which will begin on Feb. 29, 2016 with an anticipated completion date of May to June 2016.
The second phase of the project will consist of the construction of a three lane concrete street that will include a curb, gutter, and storm sewer. This phase is anticipated to begin upon completion of phase one.
Residents, business owners and travelers will experience travel delays during this time due to the road improvement project.
“We understand the traveling inconvenience this may cause,” said Bob Morrison, Senior Engineering Project Manager for League City. “Our team is working to improve the streets within our City and ask for patience as we execute this project in a safe and timely manner.”
The entire construction project is estimated to be completed by Fall 2017.
