The City of League City has designed a new tool to assist those who are seeking to do business in the city in accordance with city, state, and federal laws. The new tool is a flowchart geared at guiding those involved in the development process through the planning and the building permit phases. “This flowchart is a helpful tool that serves as a roadmap for the permitting process and enhances customer service for anyone doing business with the city," said Paul Menzies, Director of Planning and Development. "We encourage those interested in building within League City to contact us early on for assistance on their specific project. The flowchart we created will help developers ensure they have the right department assisting in the process.” League City is booming, with new construction valuations of more than $218 million for residential permits and $65 million for commercial permits in 2015 alone. The new tool will also help supplement the planning and development department’s services as the city experiences a strong rate of growth. Scott D. Livingston, League City’s new Director of Economic Development, partnered on the effort and noted the importance of keeping League City’s business-friendly reputation intact. “League City’s remarkable growth is a reflection of our city’s business-friendly environment,” said Livingston. “This simple, but helpful tool will go a long way to serve and assist those who wish to do business in our community.” This tool, which is the first of several steps to make the development process more transparent, will be followed by additional step-by-step guides.
