League City Police concluded a three-day online sting Saturday, November 19, 2016. The sting resulted in eight arrests. The Criminal Investigation Division conducted the operation in conjunction with the Internet Crimes Against Children (I.C.A.C.) task force which is comprised of various local and federal law enforcement agencies. The operation was intended to identify and arrest suspects engaged in the online sexual exploitation of children.
Lieutenant Michael Buffington, the commander of the Criminal Investigation Division, said “Sergeant Stephen Antley worked tirelessly to prepare his team and coordinate this multi-faceted operation. There are a lot of moving parts and numerous personnel assignments to an operation like this”.
Sergeant Antley gave credit to his team for being well prepared and he recognized the S.W.A.T. team, Traffic Division and Patrol Division as contributors to the operation.
The effort resulted in the arrests of eight suspects who were charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor – Felony 2. All were transported to the League City Police Department and will face charges in Galveston County.
