City Council Members, along with special guest Captain H20, honored the winners of the 2018 National Drinking Water Week Poster and Essay contest on Tuesday, May 22. This year, the City, had a record number of nearly 80 entries from elementary, middle and high school students from Clear Creek ISD and Dickinson ISD. And the winners are:
Grades K-2 (Poster Winners)
1st place—Madalynn Matherne, Bay Colony Elementary, 2nd grade
2nd place—Posie McCourt, Gilmore Elementary, 1st grade
3rd place—Mackenzie Muir, Bay Colony Elementary, 2nd grade
Grades 3-5 (Poster Winners)
1st place—Mya Moore, Bay Colony Elementary, 4th grade
2nd place—Abby Barnes, Bay Colony Elementary, 4th grade
3rd place—Fisher Palmer, Bay Colony Elementary, 4th grade
Grades 6-8 (Poster Winners)
1st place—Piper McCourt, League City Intermediate, 6th grade
Grades 9-12 (Essay Winners)
1st place—Katelynn Andaur, Clear Creek High School, 10th grade
2nd place—Emma Pistone, Clear Creek High School, 10th grade
3rd place—Trinity Le, Clear Creek High School, 10th grade
The winning posters and essays will be on display at City Hall, 300 West Walker Street, till the end of June.
