The League
City Volunteer Fire Department has seven new members to add to its pool of dedicated
men and women who donate their time and service to the City of League City.
Family and friends of the seven new cadets joined
League City Fire Chief Gary Warren and Mayor Pat Hallisey on Tuesday, May 29 at
the Johnny Arolfo Civic Center for a swearing-in ceremony. The seven new members
include:

- Richard
Summers - Fire Station 5
- Karrie
Parada - Fire Station 6

Sheehy - Fire Station 6
“There is never
a single reason as to why someone makes this commitment,” said new cadet Jason
Owens. “Whether it be a family generation of firefighters, helping out our
community, or merely wanting to give our kids something positive and rewarding
to look up to, all of these drive us to become responsible firefighters and an asset
to our city.”
Owen and his
fellow new members join the nearly 130 current League City residents who serve
on the diverse volunteer force which is comprised of individuals from all types
of backgrounds ranging from NASA engineers, business owners, plant workers, stay
at home parents, college students, and many more from our community.
