[ARCHIVED] City working with Interfaith Ministries to Distribute COVID Funds

Corona money assistance

Starting July 1, League City resumed the collection of late fees on utility bill payments and resumed the cutoff of service for non-payment. Those residential customers who have not worked out a payment plan with the City or have not reached out for financial assistance are subject to having their service disconnected.

More than $250,000 in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) funds are available to League City residents in need of emergency economic assistance, including the payment of utility bills, due to COVID-19. The City is working with Interfaith Ministries to distribute the funds. If you need assistance paying your water bill, or know someone who does, please call Utility Billing at 281-554-1335.

By law, CDBG funds must only be spent on activities that “benefit low- and moderate-income persons” and all citizens who receive assistance must reside in League City. The City is working with Interfaith Ministries to distribute the funds to residents needing assistance for rent and utility payments.
