[ARCHIVED] City Meets $50 Million Investment Milestone

50 mill celebration

League City is celebrating the completion of an important milestone: the investment of over $50 million in Capital Improvement Projects across the City. This achievement reflects on the work and dedication of various departments working together to invest in League City’s infrastructure by maintaining streets, improving mobility, drainage and the City’s water and sewer system, as well as the enhancement and addition of city services and facilities.

Included the $50 million investment is over 26 completed projects in 2020, such as the new Fire Station No.6 and the Animal Care and Adoption Center. Residents have voiced their strong interest to complete Capital Improvement Projects, and City staff from Project Management, Budget and Engineering departments have continued to work the past year to meet their needs.

“Our Project Management delivery group has done an outstanding job, and this is the first year that they have met the goal of $50 million invested,” said Angie Steelman, Director of Budget and Project Management.

As an appreciation for the staff’s hard work, employees who have worked on the CIP projects were treated to a donut breakfast at City Hall and lunch at Esteban’s. To view the full photo gallery, click here.
