New COVID-19 related restrictions are now in place for the City of League City due to GA-32—an executive order issued by Governor Abbott. The restrictions include the reduction of restaurant capacity to 50 percent, the closure of bars, and the cancellation of elective surgeries.
GA-32, which was issued by the Governor in October, places tighter restrictions on Trauma Service Areas (TSA) which exceed a 15 percent COVID hospitalization rate for seven straight days. League City and Galveston County are part of a larger TSA, and as a result, are included as part of the recent restrictions, even though local rates are not exceeding the threshold. The restrictions will stay in effect until there have been seven consecutive days of hospitalizations under 15 percent in our TSA.
League City will work to ensure local businesses affected by the newly imposed restrictions are aware of the Governor’s order. League City is asking citizens to help share the information to ensure all restaurants, bars, and medical offices operating in the City are aware of the new restrictions.
