Registration is now open for spring swim lessons, stroke clinic and lifeguard certification classes. Read below for information about each program and how to sign up.
Swim Lesson Registration
Two sessions will be offered in the spring on Mondays and Wednesdays. The first session will go from March 29 to April 21st and the second from April 26 to May 19th. Fees are $50 for residents and $75 for non-residents.
- Beginner, Intermediate, and Advance (Ages 5-14): 6:15 to 6:45 p.m. and 7 to 7:30 p.m.
- Adult (ages 15 and older): 5:30 to 6 p.m.
Registration can done online or in person at Hometown Heroes Park. To register for programs online an account is needed. Household accounts can now be created online. To create an account, visit: Online Parks and Rec Registration and click on new account and fill in the required fields. Please make sure to add everyone living in your household. Before an account can be approved, League City residents will need to email a copy of their water bill to Katrina Hersh at email@example.com to verify residency. Accounts can take up to 72 hours to be approved. Accounts can also be created in person at Hometown Heroes Park. League City residents will need to bring in a valid ID and their League City water bill.
Spring Stroke Clinic
Stroke clinic is a program for youth and teens, ages 6-17. The goal of stroke clinic is to help swimmers improve stroke technique and teach drills that will enable the continued refinement of strokes. It will also build stamina and endurance in the water. The Parks and Recreation Department is looking to hire lifeguards for the 2021 swim season. To achieve certification, participants must attend all classes, pass written and practical exams, and demonstrate maturity and responsibility throughout the class.
