Construction for Phase 3 of the Bay Ridge Flood Reduction project is now underway. This is the first of 21 drainage projects in the 2019 League City Bond Program to begin construction.
As contractors begin work, the goal is to improve drainage and capacity within the Bay Ridge neighborhood adjacent to Gum Bayou by helping water flow from streets into the detention pond. This is one of three projects directly impacting the Bay Ridge subdivision, which severely flooded during Hurricane Harvey. Work for Phase 3 is estimated to be completed in 450 days, weather permitting. The contractor, Conrad Construction, has begun removing vegetation in the area to lay the new relief storm sewer line.
