National Police Week is recognized from May 9-15 and is observed throughout the country to pay special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. As part of National Police Week, League City is recognizing its amazing law enforcement officers for their daily efforts and sacrifices to protect our community.  League City Police Officers are devoted to serving residents while enhancing their quality of life, and this year, one officer has gone above and beyond her duties, making her the department's Officer of the Year. 

Officer Ashley Neumann was recently recognized with this award by Chief Gary Ratliff for her heroic life-saving efforts, tireless pursuit of crime, and dedication . Neumann began her law enforcement career as a dispatcher in 2016 and then transitioned to patrol in 2019. As her supervisor describes, Officer Neumann shows great "snap", being proactive in her efforts to recognize illegal behavior and get it off the streets of League City. 

"It means a lot, it's a great responsibility," said Officer Neumann. "I know that I am a role model for new officers coming in and I just want to continue being the best officer that I can be."
