Clifford Woitena started his career with the League City Police Department in 1999. He is currently assigned as one of two Assistant Chiefs for the organization. Cliff has his Master Peace Officer license from the State of Texas, a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Midwestern State University, a Masters Degree in Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University, a graduate certificate in Criminal Justice Education from the University of Virginia and is a graduate of the 258th Session of the FBI’s National Academy. Cliff has received 3 Medals of Valor from the League City Police Department, an Officer of the Year Award for Heroism from the 100 Club of Houston and an Officer of the Year Award from the League City Citizens Police Academy. 

 

Cliff has worked in numerous capacities within the organization, but one constant in his career has been his 16+ year assignment to the agency’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team.  He is also a nationally recognized instructor for both the ALERRT Center (since 2005) and the Safariland Training Group (since 2009) in the areas of active shooter response, special operations, firearms and patrol response tactics. 

 

Cliff values the opportunity to serve not only the men and women of the League City Police Department, but is honored to have spent his career serving such a wonderful community. Of his accomplishments, Cliff is most proud of his role as a husband and father of four wonderful children.
